An important message from Michael:

Knowledge is power. It’s also the foundation for intelligent, well-informed decisions. When you have retirement in sight, sound decisions are vital in helping you pursue your goals and avoid costly mistakes that can affect your future.

The Bible says that "plans fail for lack of counsel but with many advisors they succeed." Therefore, when it comes to your retirement you shouldn't go it alone; but what are you supposed to look for in a good financial professional?  The following three criteria are consistently given by the financial media: (1) they should be fee-only in order to avoid the potential conflicts of interest in recommending certain investment products, (2) they should be a certified financial planner (CFP®) which demonstrates experience, competence, and high ethical standards, and (3) you should be comfortable with them because without trust any plan is almost certain to fail. As a Gulf War Veteran, I can tell you that these traits are the same ones you look for when you follow someone into battle: experience, competence, and trust.  Planning for your retirement and investing your life savings with someone deserves the same amount of consideration.

I established Miller Premier Investment Planning, LLC in early 2007 as a fee-only financial planning and investment management firm based on Christian principles. I felt that too many large investment institutions had lost touch with their clients as individuals and had inherent conflicts of interest in their business models.  Many brokers were recommending only investments that were "suitable" and payed them the highest commissions rather than taking on the role of a "fiduciary."  In addition, financial professionals were handling ever increasing client loads and service became very impersonal.  As a result, I sought to start a firm where the client's interest came first rather than a big Wall Street firm.  Where recommendations were based on a fiduciary standard rather than what pays the highest commission.  Where people are treated like individuals rather than numbers.

As a certified financial planner (CFP®) practitioner running a independent financial services firm, I am committed to helping people just like you create solutions for accomplishing their life's vision. Once I understand your current financial circumstances, preferences, priorities, and goals, I’ll work diligently to develop a program that carefully balances investment strategies with your other needs. In fact, I uncover the two or three best options for meeting your goals with the highest probability of success.  The advantages and disadvantages of each option are then presented to you in order to educate you and help you make the best informed decision based on your personal preferences and needs.

With over twenty years of financial services experience, I have learned that knowledge is power but only if you use it. Therefore, Miller Premier Investment Planning, LLC doesn't end our relationship once your plan is delivered.  We can help you implement your plan and monitor your plan on an ongoing basis.  Today’s economic environment brings challenges. But along with challenges come opportunities and potential rewards. I work closely with my clients to evaluate those opportunities and get in position to reap their rewards while avoiding many of the hidden land mines that are out there.  One of my biggest responsibilities is protecting my clients from making the BIG MISTAKE which can destroy their financial future and I don't take this responsibility lightly.  Many of these mistakes are avoided thru education and utilizing the infinite wisdom that comes from scripture.  I enjoy helping people build a solid financial foundation for the future in the spirit of the Parable of the Talents.
